It’s cold this morning. Colder than I expected and colder than I want it to be. But it’s the wind chill, not exactly the temperature. Oh sure, the temperature is cold (mid/upper 20s) but it’s the wind that really puts the bite in the air. The really strong low over NYC (that cool storm that has a massive “backdoor warm front”…where Maine is enjoying a rain storm while NY endures a blizzard!) is kicking up some blustery conditions here in Indiana today, as well as delivering us some incoming snow…coming in from the northeast (usually weather moves generally west-to-east). All this to say that the wind chill walking the 20 steps from car to classroom building this morning was a healthy 19 degrees, just cold enough to make it nice when I made it into the warm building, but not so cold that it wasn’t a nice energetic feeling for those 20 steps.

Plus, 19 degree wind chill by the end of February sure doesn’t seem as cold as 19 degree wind chill in, say, November. “Pisshhh, 19 degrees? That’s nothing compared to the sub-zero wind chills of January!”

Finally saw Avatar this afternoon. Here’re some random thoughts (mild SPOILERS ALERT):
-James Cameron got slightly better at scriptwriting since the mid ’90s (remember the dozens of times Jack says “come on” in Titanic? That only happens a few times in Avatar) but I still wonder if it would kill him to hire a scriptwriter who can actually create characters with 3D personalities to go with the 3D bodies.
-Unlike some people, I am not now in a “Pandora depression” because I want to go live with the blue people, possibly because I could just go play a Night Elf in WoW for the same (albeit slightly lower quality and 2D) experience (anyone else notice the big similarity between Pandora and their “home tree” and Teldrassil the Night Elves’ “world tree”?).
-The 3D: That. Is. Awesome. I haven’t seen a lot of 3D movies so in some senses it was just fun to do that, but it was truly awesome nonetheless. And speaking of WoW, I now want to play in 3D. Hey, Blizzard, how about it? Would there be anything cooler than PvPing in 3D?
-I now understand why there was an entire episode of Bones last fall about how the lab techs were all trying to see Avatar. Well played, Fox.

3000 tweets. That’s how many times I’ve tweeted (the tweet posting this message is #3000) in the past 18 months. That’s probably upwards of 300000 characters. Roughly 167 tweets/month and 5.5/day. And in only 200 I’ll run into the 3200 tweet all-tweets-older-than-3200-are-lost-into-the-void-but-twitter-still-has-them-but-YOU-can’t-have-them limit. At my current rate that’ll be in 37 days or March 29th, or 8 days after my 21st birthday. Hmm. Might need to build a database to cache those tweets.

I’ve never really wanted to play on a [World of Warcraft] PvP server before (focusing on leveling to 80 on a PvE before I “branch out” to things like fulltime PvP), but tonight I ran into an undead ‘lock killing gryphons in the Hinterlands and I dearly wanted to smack him for it. Actually I wanted to see if I had the mettle to take on another warlock only a level below me. Actually I wanted to do BOTH. Plus suck all the life and mana out of him. OK, I’m shutting up now.

Took out the trash, did a load of laundry, played (and won) Arathi Basin, watched some figure skating, had a snack and now I’m gonna watch 30 Rock and try to be in bed not much after 1am. The catch? That’s all since 9pm, and I’m normally a huge nightowl (1am may be late for some people, but not me…). What’s happening to me?? :)

Finally got The Stream working at its correct web addy! Now with InMotion Hosting since Green Geeks apparently never even registered jimmybh.com (which is why it wasn’t propagating), which is kinda faily.
